Competition

HOW TO ENTERClosing date 30th Sept

To celebrate the launch of Little Brown Dog on 15th September we are running a competition to win signed copies of the book and lots of other goodies for dogs and humans.

To enter, you need to identify the six London statues/buildings that feature on the front cover in the silhouetted skyline (shown above). All six are mentioned in the novel. And then a final seventh building, that adorns the back cover. This image will be released on the 14th September through social media, and will be shown here.

Stumped? We don’t blame you. Some are easy, but some are pretty tricky, and one doesn’t exist any longer in its original position. To help, we’ve added clues to help you identify each image. They are listed below.

On the 14th September we will reveal the final image of a building that features on the back cover. You need to identify that building too. Once you have the names of all 7 buildings/statues, email your answers to: competition@littlebrowndog.london and make sure you are following Tw: @L1ttleBrownDog and/or Inst: @LittleBrownDogTheNovel and you will be in with a chance of winning the following fabulous prizes:

1st prize: A signed first edition, limited edition doggie bandana, bookmark, limited edition Little Brown Dog T-shirt, a doggie bag containing a fabulous eco dog toy by Green&Wilds & bottle of Little Brown Dog gin courtesy of Scottish micro-distillery Little Brown Dog Spirit company (total value: ~£75)

GET YOUR ENTRIES IN BY 30TH SEPTEMBER 2021. Winners will be announced shortly after.

Clues appear here:

Clue number 1:

This man needs little introduction.

With just one eye and one arm (but two legs – contrary to some rumours) he still managed to conquer the waves!

But can you name him?

Clue number 2:

This lady ensures justice for all. Her unusually non-blindfolded gaze surveys all that enter the famous building that squats below her feet. Who is she?

Clue number 3:

This iconic building, overlooking a famous Square in the heart of London, contains thousands upon thousands of faces, all looking down on visitors with unreadable expressions

Clue number 4:

This is the impressive building where criminals through history have been left ‘Strand’ed while they await their fate. But what could this building be?

Clue number 5:

They are getting trickier now!

A haven for quiet contemplation, & a little prayer, nestled in the corner of one of the most famous, and rebellious, Squares in the world.

Clue number 6:

The final icon to identity, and it’s a beast!

This one’s tough, so let’s see how you get on:

This fearsome monster, one of a pair, struck terror into the hearts of all ‘wrong-doers’ who passed by him to spend time at His Majesty’s Pleasure. But you’ll not find him now, as the building he guarded no longer exists

Clue number 7:

And now we come to the seventh & final building you need to identify. This one should be relatively easy:

This world-famous centre for all things creative started out life as a municipal town hall. And was the venue for many a crucial scene in the true story of the Brown Dog Affair.
